Dear friends and colleagues,
I am delighted we are able to return to my home town, the beautiful City of Christchurch, to host a meeting again after more than a decade. The city is in a state of continual rebuild and development after earthquakes in 2010 and 2011 forced our central city to shut down while hundreds of buildings were demolished and areas made safe.
Christchurch Airport is close to all amenities, and there are plenty of flights in and out daily. The city offers accommodation options to suit every taste, and price range. There are a variety of hospitality venues and funky new spaces to explore. The shopping is fabulous and our museum, art galleries and public gardens are outstanding.
As well as attending a stimulating and thought-provoking conference, meeting new and old friends, and interacting with the exhibitors, we hope that you will take some time to experience some of our majestic landscapes and attractions. Christchurch is the gateway to the captivating South Island, which contains some of the most spectacular, dramatic and beautiful natural landforms in the world. Within a short distance from Christchurch are golden beaches, snow-capped mountains, natural hot springs, primeval forests, ice age glaciers, deep fiords, and much more for you to explore. Or stay close and relax in nearby French colonial Akaroa, or the alpine village Hanmer Springs’ thermal pool area.
See you soon
